Summary

Objective

The exchange-traded derivatives market in India is now the largest in the world, in terms of volume. There are several instruments available to allow those with knowledge of the products to generate superior returns or hedge their exposure, in terms of foreign exchange (FX).

This two-day programme will benefit those with basic knowledge of the currency markets, but need to understand derivatives for hedging, risk management and structuring purposes.

The course is an introduction to exchange-traded derivatives in India, with several real-life examples from currency exchanges, and is structured to explain derivative nuances without going into too much theory.

At the end of the course, participants would be able to understand market terminologies, assess derivative risk in currencies, appreciate the behaviour of options, learn simple hedges for FX exposure, and receive grounding for advance derivative strategies.

Target audience

Wealth managers in banks and brokerages, personnel in finance departments, risk managers, treasury officers, and any company managers with basic knowledge of currency markets.
