CRISIL webinar on US elections: Promises, policies and aftermath

Summary

As the historically unusual election season in the US nears its November 3, 2020 climax, questions arise on the stated policies of the two camps and their implications for the broader US economy as well as the credit quality of borrowers - including non-financial corporates, banks, and states and municipalities.

S&P Global Ratings recognises that promises often go unfulfilled, and that much of what can and will be done depends heavily on the partisan makeup in Washington. Impartial to the politics and rhetoric of the race, it is looking at the differences - and in some cases, the similarities - between the major parties' platforms in areas of taxation, trade, infrastructure, healthcare, and regulation (including climate policy and immigration).

CRISIL invites you to a webinar where we discuss with Dr. Beth Ann Bovino, Managing Director, U.S. Chief Economist, S&P Global Ratings how the overall economic conditions may be emitting different signals for companies, consumers and other key stakeholders.

Key topics of discussion will include

  • Outlook for the US economy and key challenges for the incoming president
  • Difference and similarities on taxes, fiscal stimulus, regulation, immigration, and trade and infrastructure of the two presidential candidates and its implications
  • Long-term growth concerns

The webinar will have a presentation followed by a Q&A session. We look forward to your participation.
