CRISIL Ratings webinar on the ARC of stressed-assets resolution: Opportunities and the need for speed

Summary

A raft of factors makes this an opportune time for investors in stressed assets in India, aside from the fact that the banking system has sizeable non-performing assets which itself provides huge opportunity to investors.

Recent years have seen the creation of a conducive ecosystem for attracting and resolving stressed assets. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 has been put in place and strengthened, and accelerated regulatory reforms have provided several options for resolution. The creation of National Asset Reconstruction Company, too, is a structurally positive move.

Given their long-standing presence and expertise in this space, asset reconstruction companies (ARCs) remain a key category of players, while stressed asset funds are also starting to make their mark.

That said, resolutions have a long way to go for the huge opportunity to be realised. It is imperative that the nagging issues are addressed soon and resolutions put on fast track.

In the milieu, CRISIL Ratings is organising a webinar titled 'The ARC of stressed-assets resolution; opportunities and need for speed', where our experts will discuss:

  • Sizeable opportunities in Indian stressed assets space
  • Regulatory changes and impact of IBC since inception
  • National ARC - a move in the right direction?
  • ARCs holding ground, and still have a critical role to play
  • Conducive ecosystem attracting investors into the market
  • Challenges and the road ahead
