A looming global recession, significant reduction in hiring in some pockets and increasing layoffs in the technology sector could lead to deferral of office leasing plans.
On the other hand, shopping malls continue to see robust recovery in footfalls after the first 18 months of the Covid-19 pandemic. The warehousing segment also logging steady leasing activity across geographies, driven by continuing improvement in economic environment and e-commerce penetration.
So, will the recessionary winds hit the office leasing by technology sector in India? Or can other sectors provide a full offset?
