Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) Policy and Capacity Building

Infrastructure development and service delivery through PPPs is a key focus area for CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory. Over the last 15 years, CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory has successfully undertaken over 800 projects with a number of successful PPP transactions in India and abroad.

As PPPs in India are becoming increasingly robust and transparent, CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory has leveraged its extensive PPP capabilities to assist governments of emerging economies in Africa and Southeast Asia in drawing the roadmap for increasing private sector participation in infrastructure. CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory's team of PPP Transaction Advisors work with clients in the following sectors:

  • First major municipal water project structured and made operational on PPP basis - Latur Project in Maharashtra
  • First-of-its-kind electricity distribution franchisee contract designed and made operational
  • First greenfield port policy formulation and port development on PPP basis in Gujarat that paved the way for Gujarat becoming the leading maritime state in India
  • First competitively bid SEZ -The Navi Mumbai SEZ
  • First water treatment plant on Design Built and Operate (DBO) basis - Sonia Vihar Treatment Plant in Delhi
