CRISIL Ratings webinar on Roads sector: Primed for a smooth drive

Summary

Roads are turning attractive for investors.

On the one hand, the Union Budget for next fiscal announced the highest-ever outlay of Rs 1.18 lakh crore for the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, indicating the government's continued focus on the sector.

On the other, a rebound traffic to pre-pandemic levels has increased the potential for asset monetisation.

The sector has also been drawing ample investor interest. Investments in infrastructure investment trusts (InvITs) have inched up, as also have stake sales in operational road assets. Indeed, the unlocking of capital will support the balance sheets of road EPC companies and allow them to scale up. These companies have also rebounded well after the initial phase of the pandemic. Net-net, the roads sector seems primed for a smooth drive.

In the context, CRISIL Ratings invites you to a webinar on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, where its experts will make a presentation covering:

  • The pace of project awards and trends in execution
  • Status of projects under the hybrid annuity model
  • Credit perspective and outlook on road EPC companies
  • Traffic recovery trends and expectations
  • InvITs and refinancing potential in the sector

This will be followed by a panel discussion by industry experts and a Q&A session.
