Crisil webinar on the dairy sector: Riding the milky wave

India's dairy industry is set for healthy volume growth with demand staying buoyant in fiscal 2026.

Value-added products (VAPs) will continue to outpace liquid milk amid rising awareness and emphasis on nutrition as people increasingly become aware of the health benefits of consuming protein-rich diet. The growing share of VAPs in the product mix and price hikes will support profitability of the dairy industry.

Milk supply will remain ample, too, aided by favourable climatic conditions with expectation of a good monsoon, stable fodder prices and continuing emphasis on proactive measures, including increased use of artificial insemination.

Given the milieu, dairy companies are continuing with their expansion plans.

Where are these new capacities likely to come up and how will capacity expansions impact the credit profiles of dairy companies?

For answers and more, we are organising a webinar on June 4, 2025, where our experts will discuss topics such as:

  • Demand-supply dynamics for organised dairies
  • Milk price trend and impact on profitability
  • Capital expenditure plans and their effect on leverage
  • Working capital cycle
  • Credit outlook for the sector

This will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.
