Ashu Suyash is Managing Director and CEO of CRISIL and is a member of the CRISIL Board. She also serves as a member of the Operating Committee for S&P Global.
Ms. Suyash leads CRISIL's Indian and global businesses, steering its efforts to deliver high quality analytics, opinions and solutions to corporations, investors, financial institutions, policy makers and governments.
Ms. Suyash has spent 30+ years in the financial services sector. Prior to joining CRISIL in 2015, she served as the Chief Executive Officer of L&T Investment Management Limited and L&T Capital Markets Limited. From 2003 to 2012 she was Country Head and Managing Director of Fidelity's Indian Mutual Fund business which she helped set up. Previously, she held several key positions across the corporate, consumer and investment banking divisions in during her 15+ years’ stint at Citibank.
Over the years, Ms. Suyash has been recognised among the Top 50 Women in business in India and Asia by various publications.
Ms. Suyash is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. She is a member of the National Executive Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. She is also a member of the governing board of National Institute of Securities Markets, established by the Securities and Exchanges Board of India. Ms. Suyash has a keen interest in the education sector and is on the Advisory Board of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, is associated with the Board of Studies at NMIMS, NM College and is also on the Advisory Board of Aseema Charitable Trust - an NGO that provides education to underprivileged children.
Gurpreet Chhatwal leads the large and mid-corporate ratings businesses at CRISIL. He is responsible for analytical execution, managing client relationships, enhancing CRISIL’s franchise through thought leadership and outreach. He is also responsible for spearheading the innovation agenda at CRISIL Ratings, while continuing to focus on raising the rating standards at an industry level.
Prior to this, Gurpreet set up the Risk and Analytics (R&A) practice globally for CRISIL Global Research and Analytics (GR&A) that now provides risk modelling, model validation, stress testing and regulatory support to global clients.
Gurpreet has held various positions with CRISIL’s ratings business, across the analytical and the business development teams, and has played a key role in its growth over the years. He joined CRISIL as an analyst in the ratings division and led ratings assignments for large clients in various sectors. From 2008 to 2012, Gurpreet led the Bank Loan Ratings (BLR) business – he was part of the team that set up CRISIL’s BLR business and reached a milestone of over 10,000 outstanding ratings by April 2012.
Gurpreet has also been a part of CRISIL’s Global Analytical Centre and worked with S&P Global, New York.
Gurpreet joined CRISIL in 1999 and has experience in setting up and managing large teams in India and globally.
Gurpreet holds a postgraduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, and an engineering degree from PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh.
V. Srinivasan (Srini) is the President of CRISIL Global Research & Analytics (GR&A), the world's largest and top-ranked provider of high-end research and analytics services. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. His present responsibilities include expanding the global research, risk & analytics offerings, and developing capabilities to tap opportunities arising from current as well as upcoming global regulatory changes.
Prior to this, V.Srinivasan was Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) for CRISIL and was responsible for the corporate functions, overall strategy planning, execution and other strategic partnerships. Srini has also led CRISIL’s Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) Ratings business that has rated over 90,000 SMEs in India.
Earlier, Srini was instrumental in spearheading CRISIL’s global foray into off-shoring and outsourcing businesses. He has more than 10 years of experience in this area having led client engagements in India and New York and in growing client relationships. He headed the Global Delivery Operations & Global Financial Research practice and led a 1,000+ strong research team across equity, fixed income, credit and structured finance.
Srini joined CRISIL in 2000 as a credit rating analyst. Prior to CRISIL, Srini worked for a large financial institution in India providing infrastructure and project financing.
Srini is an MBA with a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. He also holds a Chemical Engineering Degree from Nagpur University.
Stéphane is the CEO of Coalition and also serves on the board of Coalition. Upon joining Coalition in 2006, he launched Coalition Client Analytics, now one of the pillar products of the company. He also led Coalition’s Americas business from 2008 to 2012 developing client relationships with the largest US Investment banks and building up the local Coalition team.
During his time as CEO, Stéphane drove the high growth of Coalition with a strong focus on client relationship, team development and analytics innovation.
Prior to Coalition, Stéphane was a consultant at McKinsey & Company for 7 years advising global and European investment banks on their Global Markets, Corporate Finance and Corporate Banking activities. He worked on strategic and operational assignments in Paris, New York and London. Prior to McKinsey, he worked in Banque Nationale de Paris’s Structured Finance team in New York.
Stéphane holds an MBA from Harvard Business School (1999-2001) and an Engineering Master from École des Mines de Paris (1992-1995). He is married to a wonderful Turkish woman and has two amazing kids: Maya and Tomas.
Sameer Bhatia is the President of CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory, a division of CRISIL Risk & Infrastructure Solutions Limited (CRIS), which is a fully owned subsidiary of CRISIL. CRISIL Infrastructure Advisory is one of the leaders in the areas of infrastructure policy, development and transaction advisory services.
Sameer has more than 20 years of rich consulting experience across Business Strategy, Corporate & Competitive Strategy, Project Feasibility, New Market Entry and Process & Operations Improvement. He has strong domain expertise across a range of sectors including Energy & Resources (Oil & Gas, Power & Mining), Transportation and Logistics, Real Estate & Special Economic Zones and Industrial Products Manufacturing & Services. Sameer has handled more than 250 consulting engagements across these sectors, as partner/engagement leader.
Apart from advising large corporates and government/PSUs in India, he has also worked with clients in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and large multi-nationals (MNCs) across the globe. Sameer has a strong track record of leading the Advisory practice in the Middle East, based out of Dubai.
Sameer has a post-graduate diploma (MBA) in Business Administration from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management (Pune) and a degree in electrical engineering from VJTI, Mumbai. Prior to joining CRISIL, he was a Senior Director (Partner) in the Consulting practice of Deloitte in India.
Amish is the Chief Operating Officer at CRISIL Limited having transitioned from the role of CFO. He oversees the business of India Research, Small and Medium Enterprises ratings and the Global Analytical Centre in addition to corporate functions of Technology, Strategy, Legal and Compliance at CRISIL.
He has over 25 years of experience across variety of leadership roles in several large companies across different industries and functions. He is a Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
Amish has previously worked as the Chief Financial Officer with Indus Towers Limited (world’s largest telecom tower company & a Joint Venture company between Bharti Infratel Limited, Vodafone and Aditya Birla Telecom), as the Director Finance with Castrol India Limited ( a listed subsidiary of BP in India), in senior roles in Ernst & Young Private Limited and Mobil India Private Limited.
Ramraj Pai is the President of CRISIL, an agile and innovative global analytics company driven by its mission of making markets function better. As President, Ramraj is responsible for deepening client engagements and relationships across all businesses within CRISIL and capture new business opportunities in India and Emerging Markets in partnership with India Research, Risk Solutions and newly acquired Pragmatix business. Additionally he leads the Marketing and Communication, Public Affairs and CRISIL Foundation functions at CRISIL.
Having joined CRISIL from campus as a credit analyst, Ramraj has held leadership positions successfully across different businesses including Ratings, Risk Solutions and Infra Advisory over the last 23 years and has played a key role in its growth over the years. Ramraj set up CRISIL’s securitization and structured finance business in early 2002 and played a key role in the creation of a market for securitization transactions in the country. In 2007, he took charge of the SME Ratings business and was instrumental in rapidly scaling up this business to reach the milestone of over 25,000 ratings within a short span. Post that, he led the Ratings team and oversaw the entire range of services related to large corporate ratings.
Ramraj holds a Post Graduate diploma in Management from S.P. Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
Anupam Kaura joined CRISIL Limited as President, Human Resources. He has over 20 years of HR leadership and business partnership experience, of which 16 years have been in Banking, Insurance and ITES HR.
Prior to joining CRISIL, Mr. Kaura served as Head of HR Advisory and Products at IDFC Bank. He was instrumental in driving the build-out of all businesses and functions for IDFC Bank - Consumer and Rural Retail Banking, SME, Wholesale Banking, Risk, Operations & Technology, and Functions aggregating 3500 employees, across 56 locations across India. He has also worked with Citibank N.A., AXA Business Services and PwC in various HR roles.
Mr. Kaura holds a Masters Degree in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai.
Subodh Rai heads the analytical function for the integrated Corporate Ratings business, and leads CRISIL Ratings’ new product initiatives and collaboration agenda with S&P Global Ratings.
Subodh joined CRISIL in 2000. In his previous role, he was leading Ratings - Mid-Corporate as Business Head. Subodh was instrumental in growing the MCG Ratings business and making it a market leader. Prior to this, he was responsible for Bank Loan Ratings, where he led a large analytical team that rated bank loans across sectors. As a member of CRISIL’s Rating Committee, he was closely involved in benchmarking entities on key risk parameters and assigning ratings to these entities.
Earlier, Subodh has also led operations at CRISIL Ratings’ Centre of Excellence (COE). In this role, he was responsible for developing new products, refining CRISIL’s credit rating criteria and assessing performance of assigned ratings.
Prior to joining CRISIL, Subodh has worked with Shree Renuka Sugars Limited and Garware Wall Ropes Limited.
Priti Arora is the Chief Strategy Officer and Business Head, Global Analytical Centre (GAC), CRISIL. In her professional career of over 17 years, she has built and led large and high-performing global teams, provided value-creating solutions to global clients. She currently leads a 900-strong team that supports S&P Global Ratings Services by enhancing workflow efficiency, undertaking a range of activities that require specialised knowledge and capabilities. In her Strategy role, she is also responsible for facilitating the overall strategic direction and enterprise led initiatives in the company. She also leads the ‘Innovation Lab’ agenda and responsible for M&A within CRISIL. She also chairs the Diversity and Inclusion platform at CRISIL, ‘Winspiration’.
Priti has grown the scale and diversity in the range of services offered by GAC. Priti’s team supports analysis on 2600 companies, 800 financial institutions, 6000 public entity issuances and 80 sovereigns rated by S&P Global Ratings. Priti has helped focus on strategic long-term objectives such as developing new areas of support, generate greater cost efficiencies and talent development.
Before moving to GAC in 2008, Priti led CRISIL Global Research & Analytics’ Credit offshoring operations supporting global investment banks. Prior to that, she was a part of the CRISIL’s Ratings team and has been the lead analyst on several high-profile Indian credits across the consumer durables, fertilisers, trading, and IT/media sectors. She also spent a year in CRISIL Ratings’ Centre of Excellence (COE) where she was responsible for developing new products, refining CRISIL’s credit rating criteria, and assessing ratings performance.
Priti is an Economics Honors graduate and completed her MBA degree as a gold medallist from International Management Institute.
Mr. Chakravarti is a Chartered Accountant with over 24 years of experience in financial management, strategy, taxation, treasury and accounting. He was born and brought up in Kolkata. After graduating from St Xaviers College, Kolkata, he completed Chartered Accountancy based in Kolkata.
In his most recent role, Mr. Chakravarti was the CFO of Shoppers Stop Ltd, where he spent 12 years. In addition to his role and responsibilities as CFO of Shoppers Stop Ltd, he was also heading the Legal, Investor Relations, Internal Governance & Risk Control functions of the company. He was also on the Board of Crossword Bookstores Ltd and Timezone Entertainment Ltd, and a permanent invitee to the Board of Hypercity Retail Limited (till its sale to the Future Group), all 3 of which were Shoppers Stop investee companies.
Mr. Chakravarti possesses diverse experience in finance from his prior years covering - advertising (Equus WPP), IT services (Hewitt), banking/IT services (Citigroup), apart from the recent one with Retail (at Shoppers Stop).
An MBA from the University of New Mexico, Ashish Vora has had a 14-year stint in Citigroup, before leaving as Director of Global Relationship Banking Clients in India. In 2006, he joined Kotak Mahindra Bank to set up their Transaction Services Business including the Operations & Technology platform, Sales & Product Management. He is an expert in Global Transaction Services - Product, Operations & Technology, Relationship Management, Risk management.
Ashish Vora now heads the Business intelligence and Risk solutions business at CRISIL.
Ramesh Lakshminarayanan is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of CRISIL.
An MBA from University of Poona, Ramesh has over 25 years of rich experience in Technology and Information Security space in the banking industry. Ramesh started his career with Citibank as a member of the Retail banking team that introduced phone banking in India and has held senior technology positions in Citibank where he was last the Head of Technology Infrastructure for India Sub-continent. He then moved to Kotak Group to drive their strategic technology initiatives which included consolidation and introduction of new technology platforms and infrastructure. In his last role as Co-founder and Director of Pragmatix, Ramesh was responsible for driving the Company's Technology road map, Product Development, Technology Infrastructure and Alliances.. He has been featured in several television and media programs on technology including "Walk the Tech Talk" series on NDTV Profit.
