Amish Mehta is the Managing Director and CEO of CRISIL.
He leads efforts to deliver value through best-in-class analytics, solutions, and opinions to companies, investors, financial institutions, policy makers and governments, both in India and worldwide.
Amish joined CRISIL in October 2014 as President and Chief Financial Officer, and in 2017, was named Chief Operating Officer. As the COO, he led CRISIL’s acquisitions and change agenda, while creating a growth path for the businesses he managed.
Prior to joining CRISIL, Amish was the Chief Financial Officer of Indus Towers. He has rich experience of over two decades in telecommunications, oil and gas, FMCG and business advisory services, and has held leadership roles in diverse organisations, including BP/Castrol India, E&Y and ExxonMobil India.
He is a member of FICCI’s Capital Markets Committee, CII National Committee on Financial Markets, and SEBI Primary Markets Advisory Committee (PMAC).
He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce.
Ashish Vora leads the Market Intelligence and Analytics (MI&A) unit which consists of Customised Research and Advisory, Industry Research, SME, Funds and Fixed Income, and Business Intelligence and Risk Solutions verticals.
Ashish was one of the co-founders of Pragmatix Services Pvt Ltd, a FinTech company that CRISIL acquired in 2018.
He has more than 30 years of experience including leadership roles in leading financial institutions. He is an MBA from the University of New Mexico, class of 1992.
Prior to setting up Pragmatix in 2011, Ashish was EVP and Business Head at Kotak Bank where he set up the Transaction Banking vertical. Before joining Kotak, Ashish gained extensive experience at Citibank across multiple roles in Global Transaction Services and as the Director and Unit Head of Global Relationship Banking.
Mr. Gurpreet Chhatwal has over 25 years' experience in the financial sector. He joined CRISIL in 1999 and has experience in setting up and managing large teams in India and globally, setting up and growing key businesses (BLR and R&A practices) and has spearheaded the innovation agenda at CRISIL Ratings.
Mr. Chhatwal leads the Ratings business at CRISIL Ratings. He is responsible for analytical execution, managing client relationships, enhancing CRISIL Ratings's franchise through thought leadership and outreach. He is also responsible for spearheading the innovation agenda at CRISIL Ratings, while continuing to focus on raising the rating standards at an industry level. Prior to this, he set up the Risk and Analytics (R&A) practice globally for CRISIL Global Research and Analytics (GR&A) that now provides risk modelling, model validation, stress testing and regulatory support to global clients. Mr Chhatwal has held various positions with CRISIL’s ratings business, across the analytical and the business development teams, and has played a key role in its growth over the years.
He joined CRISIL as an analyst in the ratings division and led ratings assignments for large clients in various sectors. From 2008 to 2012, Mr. Chhatwal led the Bank Loan Ratings (BLR) business – he was part of the team that set up CRISIL’s BLR business and reached a milestone of over 10,000 outstanding ratings by April 2012.
Mr. Chhatwal has also been a part of CRISIL's Global Analytical Centre and worked with S&P Global, New York.
Mr. Gurpreet Chhatwal holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, and an engineering degree from PEC University of Technology, Chandigarh.
Jan is a seasoned financial sector consulting and advisory leader. He has assisted multiple banks, insurers, and asset managers to create and protect value in his previous stints.
Jan led Moody's Analytics Banking Advisory Practice for the Americas. In this role, Jan oversaw projects with more than 100 institutions focused on inter alia credit risk transformation, balance sheet management, stress testing, the transition to CECL, MRA remediation, and portfolio management.
Prior to Moody's, Jan spent seven years at NERA Economic Consulting, an Oliver Wyman company, as Senior Consultant. He focused on assisting financial institutions and corporates in addressing regulatory and legal challenges.
Jan holds a Master of Science in Physics from New York University, a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Reed College, is a CFA Charterholder, and holds the PRM designation from PRMIA, which named him the PRM Candidate of the Year in 2010.
Duncan leads the CRISIL Global Benchmarking Analytics business, and is based at London.
With extensive leadership experience at large financial institutions, his past role was at Citibank where he led the strategy, digital channels and capital management teams for the commercial banking business. As a member of the Commercial Bank Executive Committee, he was responsible for driving an ambitious growth strategy to double the business. He played a critical role in driving digitalisation for Citi’s commercial and corporate banking businesses.
He has also worked with Barclays in Internal strategy & M&A, and at Rothschild.
Subodh Rai is President - Risk and Compliance for CRISIL. In this role, Subodh leads the risk management, compliance and audit functions, focusing on mitigating risks and strengthening resilience, in the context of an evolving economic, technology, and regulatory environment.
Previously, Subodh headed the analytical function at CRISIL Ratings. He chaired the Rating Committee and was responsible for its functioning. Subodh also led the franchise initiatives for CRISIL Ratings and had authored several incisive opinion pieces on topics germane to credit rating.
Subodh has more than 25 years of experience in the ratings business and held various leadership positions across analytical and business functions. He has also headed the Ratings - mid-corporate group. Subodh was instrumental in turning around the division and strengthening CRISIL’s leadership position in this segment.
Before joining CRISIL, he worked with Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd and Garware Wall Ropes Ltd.
Subodh holds a PGDM from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and an engineering degree from the College of Technology, GBPUAT, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand.
Krishnan Sitaraman is Senior Director & Chief Ratings Officer at CRISIL Ratings Limited (CRISIL Ratings). In this role, he heads the analytical function at CRISIL Ratings on a pan India basis. He also chairs the Rating Committee and is responsible for its functioning.
Krishnan has been with CRISIL for close to 23 years. Prior to his current role, Krishnan was Senior Director & Deputy Chief Ratings Officer at CRISIL Ratings. In that role, he oversaw credit rating assignments for financial sector entities and structured finance instruments across sectors.
Earlier, Krishnan was Senior Director, Compliance for CRISIL Limited, and was responsible for implementation of SEBI regulations, internal policies, and interfacing with regulators. Prior to compliance, he held various roles across the ratings and research businesses.
Priti heads the Capability Centre which is a consolidation of capabilities and is aimed at scaling and enhancing productivity across resident capabilities. She works closely with business leaders in Global Benchmarking Analytics (GBA), Global Research and Risk Solutions (GR&RS), and Market Intelligence and Analytics (MI&A) to identify and fulfil new growth opportunities, showcase the combined strength of standardised capabilities and expertise to clients, and drive talent mobility and employee value proposition across capability centres.
Priti joined CRISIL in Ratings in the year 2000 and has donned multiple roles across Ratings, GR&RS and GAC, including as the head of GAC and Corporate Strategy.
Priti is an Economics Honors graduate and completed her MBA degree as a gold medalist from International Management Institute.
Mr. Chakravarti is a Chartered Accountant with over 28 years of experience in financial management, strategy, taxation, treasury and accounting. He was born and brought up in Kolkata. After graduating from St Xaviers College, Kolkata, he completed Chartered Accountancy based in Kolkata.
In his most recent role, Mr. Chakravarti was the CFO of Shoppers Stop Ltd, where he spent 12 years. In addition to his role and responsibilities as CFO of Shoppers Stop Ltd, he was also heading the Legal, Investor Relations, Internal Governance & Risk Control functions of the company.
Zak Murad is the Chief Technology and Information Officer of CRISIL Limited.
Zak drives the company's global technology roadmap, product development, technology infrastructure, and alliances. He leads the implementation of micro-services, cloud, and digitally-led technology models in addition to focusing on digitalisation of content and enhancing CRISIL’s automation journey by harnessing machine learning and natural language processing.
Before joining CRISIL, Zak was the Global Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations at S&P Global Ratings, where he led efforts to work towards common capabilities for product development across the Market Intelligence, Ratings, and Platts divisions of S&P Global.
He has previously worked with BNYMellon where he led data platforms, distributed compute/cloud, and information life cycle management services. In a career spanning over 30 years, he has also managed several large technology projects at well-known financial institutions such as Barclays, Goldman Sachs, and Lehman Brothers.
Zak is a thought leader and has been on the chair and panel of several prestigious technology events across the globe. He holds a degree from Rutgers University.
Maya Vengurlekar leads the CRISIL Foundation. In her role as Chief Operating Officer, Maya oversees CRISIL's CSR initiatives pertaining to financial inclusion, women's empowerment, and environment conservation.
She joined CRISIL in 2002, gained domain expertise in Ratings, culminating in her role as Head – Business Development at CRISIL Ratings. Maya then took on a role as Senior Director – Marketing and Investor Outreach, where she steered initiatives to establish CRISIL's thought leadership with market participants, investors, regulatory bodies and policy-making institutions, and to develop India’s corporate bond market.
Maya has a Degree in Commerce from Mumbai University and an MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune.
Sharmila is a seasoned marketing leader in the B2B segment with over 21 years of experience. She has worked extensively in the marketing of advisory and technology services and products. Prior to joining CRISIL, she worked for 11 years at Fractal Analytics, where she was instrumental in crafting the company's brand story globally.
An MBA in Marketing, Sharmila lives with her husband and daughter in Mumbai.
Preeti Balwani is a seasoned commercial attorney with over 19 years of experience both in house and in private practice. In her most recent roles, she has served as the General Counsel and Executive Director for Coca-Cola Bottling (Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages) and Kraft Heinz in India.
Preeti is a graduate from Indian Law Society’s (ILS) Law College, Pune University (BSL.LLB) and also holds a Masters’ Degree in Maritime Law (LLM) from the University of Southampton.
Prior to moving in-house Ms. Balwani served as an external counsel for Indian companies providing them legal advice on M&A, for over a decade.

Pooja has over 20 years of diverse experience in the human resources function. She has extensive experience in leading complex transformation projects, spanning globally, across business restructuring, talent acquisition, employee experience and talent management. She has been instrumental in scaling & stabilizing businesses and leading change management. Her past role was at WNS where she led HR for multiple businesses globally, namely Banking & Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, Research & Analytics, Technology, Business Transformation Group and Corporate Functions. Prior to that, she spent 14 years in Standard Chartered where she was engaged in multiple facets of HR including as a HR Business Leader, Talent Acquisition, Performance and Talent Management.
She holds an MBA degree and is a member of CIPD (MCIPD) and Certified Strengths Coach by Gallup.
