The mutual fund industry’s assets under management (AUM) closed May at a record high of Rs 25.93 lakh crore, as per data disclosed by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).
The industry gained nearly Rs 1.15 lakh crore of assets, or nearly 5% of its assets as of April, led up inflows into debt-oriented mutual fund categories (primarily liquid funds), persistent inflows into equity-oriented funds, and mark-to-market (MTM) gains.
What’s more, as per data newly being disclosed by AMFI, the folio count increased by nearly 5 lakh on-month to 8.32 crore, while monthly average AUM was also up slightly at Rs 25.43 lakh crore.
