Grading of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs)

The Directorate General of Employment and Training (DGET), Ministry of Labour and Employment, has introduced grading of ITIs to provide a benchmark for comparison among the institutes and the trades offered by them. The grading process will help these institutes stay competitive through insights into specific areas of improvement. The grading will benefit students and employers through a formal acknowledgment from the government about quality of training and facilities above the minimum level required for affiliation. For states/DGET, the grading of ITIs will help identify problem areas and design appropriate policy interventions. CRISIL has been empanelled by DGET as the one of the authorised grading agencies.
