Detailed Rationale

CRISIL has assigned its 'CRISIL BBB-/Stable' rating to the bank facilities of Sahasra Electronics Private Limited (SEPL).

The rating reflects the extensive experience of SEPL's promoters in the electronic equipment manufacturing industry and their established relationships with clients, and the company's healthy financial risk profile. These strengths are partially offset by the moderate scale and working capital-intensive nature of operations.

Key Rating Drivers & Detailed Description
Strengths:
* Extensive experience of the promoters:
The two-decade-long experience of SEPL's promoters in manufacturing electronic equipment and their healthy relationships with customers and suppliers, will continue to support the business risk profile. The group sells its products to well-known companies such as Sony India Pvt Ltd, Hewlett Packard and PNY Technology Asia Pacific Ltd, among others.

* Healthy financial risk profile
Financial risk profile is marked by a comfortable adjusted networth and low total outside liabilities to adjusted networth (TOL/ANW) ratio of Rs 42 crore and 0.52 time, respectively, as on March 31, 2020. Capital structure may remain strong in the absence of any major debt-funded capital expenditure plans. Debt protection metrics are healthy, reflected by interest coverage of over 32 times in fiscal 2020.

Weaknesses:
* Moderate scale of operations:
Business profile is constrained by its moderate scale of operations in the intensely competitive industry. The revenue was moderate at Rs 85.76 crore in fiscal 2020 against Rs 110 crore in the previous fiscal. Although revenue is expected to improve in the current fiscal it is expected to remain moderate in the range of Rs 100 crore. Moderate scale of operations will continue to limit its operating flexibility.

* Working capital-intensive operations:
Gross current assets (GCAs) stood at 174 days as on March 31, 2020, led by moderate inventory of 95 days and receivables of 85 days. Furthermore, GCAs may remain high over the medium term, on account of significant advances to group entities.
Liquidity Adequate

Liquidity remains adequate, marked by sufficient cash accrual and low bank limit. Expected cash accrual of over Rs 11 crore can be used to cover the incremental working capital and capital expenditure requirements in the absence of any term debt. Current ratio is healthy at 1.98 times as on March 31, 2020. Bank limit utilisation was moderate, averaging 30% for the 12 months through October 2020.

Outlook: Stable

CRISIL believe SEPL will continue to benefit from the extensive experience of its promoters in the electronic equipment manufacturing business.

Rating Sensitivity factors
Upward factors
* Sustained growth in revenue (by 20%) and steady operating margin, leading to higher cash accrual
* Better working capital management and recovery of advances extended to group companies

Downward factors
* Decline in net cash accrual below Rs 6 crore, driven by drop in revenue or operating profit
* Stretch in working capital cycle  or any significant cash flow support to group companies, weakening the financial risk profile; particularly liquidity
About the Company

SEPL was set up in 2001 by the promoters, Mr Amrit Manwani and Mr Vasudeo Kabadi. The company manufactures parts of data processing equipment, print circuit board assemblies with cables, LED lighting fixtures and USB drives. The company exports around 75% of its products to USA, Rwanda, Europe and Canada. SEPL sells its products in US market through its marketing entity, Optima Technologies Assoc., Inc.
