Detailed Rationale

CRISIL has reaffirmed its ratings on the bank loan facilities of Srini Pharmaceuticals Private Limited (SPPL) at 'CRISIL BBB-/Stable/CRISIL A3'.

The rating continues to reflect company's established market position in the bulk drugs industry supported by its promoters' extensive industry experience. The ratings also factor in an above-average financial risk profile because of a healthy networth, low gearing ratio, and robust debt protection metrics. These rating strengths are partially offset by large working capital requirements, high customer concentration in revenue profile, and exposure to intense competition.

Key Rating Drivers & Detailed Description
Strengths
* Established presence in the bulk drug industry supported by its promoters' extensive industry experience
SPPL has a track record of more than a decade in manufacturing and supplying bulk drugs and active pharmaceuticals ingredients (API). The company is an equal joint venture (JV) between Mr. T.C Reddy and Apotex Pharmachem Inc., a subsidiary of Apotex Pharmaceutical Holding Inc., Canada, derives strong benefits from the JV. Mr. T.C Reddy has more than 20 years of experience in different segments of the pharmaceuticals industry. CRISIL believes that SPPL will continue to benefit from its promoters extensive experience in pharmaceuticals industry and its strong linkages with the Apotex group over the medium term.

 * Above-average financial risk profile
SPPL's financial risk profile is marked by healthy net worth, low gearing, and robust debt protection metrics. The company's net worth is estimated to be healthy at Rs.129 crores as on March 31, 2018. The company has followed a conservative financial policy, with gearing being low at 0.2 times as on March 31, 2018. SPPL has robust debt protection metrics with net cash accruals to total debt (NCATD) and interest coverage at 0.5 times and 21.5 times for 2017-18

Weakness
* Exposure to intense competition in the highly competitive bulk drug manufacturing industry: SPPL, is a bulk drug and API supplier for the generics industry, is exposed to intense competition, price erosion, and commoditization in regulated markets. CRISIL believes that the intense competition will continue to impact SPPL's business risk profile over the medium term.

* High degree of customer concentration in its revenue profile
SPL's revenue is concentrated in a single customer, with Apotex contributing more than 85 per cent of the total revenues. Though Apotex holds a stake in SPL, it purchases from SPL only if the pricing is competitive. This makes the company highly dependent on its relationships with the Apotex and also vulnerable to changes in its policies, if any. CRISIL believes that SPPL will remain vulnerable to the risk of client concentration over the medium term.
Outlook: Stable

CRISIL believes SPPL will continue to benefit over the medium term from its promoters' extensive industry experience. The outlook may be revised to 'Positive' in case of sustained diversification in revenue along with stable profitability, or steady improvement in working capital management. Conversely, the outlook may be revised to 'Negative' in case of a steep decline in profitability, or significant deterioration in the capital structure because of large debt-funded capex or a stretched working capital cycle.

About the Company

SPPL was set up in 1999 by Mr. T C Reddy and his family members. Apotex PharmaChem Holding Inc acquired 50 percent stake in the company in 2002. The company manufactures active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug intermediaries. Its manufacturing unit is in Nalgonda, Telangana.
