CRISIL has suspended its ratings on the bank facilities of Sudal Industries Ltd (Sudal). This is because Sudal has not been providing any information on its operations and financials to CRISIL. The suspension reflects CRISIL’s inability to maintain a valid rating in the absence of information from Sudal.
About the Company
Set up in 1979 by Mr. Sudarshan Chokhani, Sudal manufactures aluminum extrusions and aluminum-based alloys. Its plant in Nashik (Maharashtra) has capacity to manufacture 13,900 tonnes per annum (tpa) of aluminum extrusions (calculated on a three-shift basis), and 3000 tpa of aluminum-based alloys. The company plans to enhance its aluminum extrusion capacity by about 5000 tpa during 2011-12 (refers to financial year, April 1 to March 31), involving an estimated outlay of up to Rs.200 million. Sudal was referred to the Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) twice in the past 30 years; it came out of BIFR’s purview in 2008.
