CRISIL has suspended its rating on the bank facilities of Balaji Amines Ltd (BAL). This is because BAL has not been providing any information on its operations and financials to CRISIL. The suspension reflects CRISIL’s inability to maintain a valid rating in the absence of information from BAL.
About the Company
BAL, set up in 1988, is a leading manufacturer of aliphatic amines and derivatives, and specialty and fine chemicals in India. The company has manufacturing facilities at Tuljapur (Maharashtra) and Bollaram (Andhra Pradesh). A third unit for research and development, set up at Solapur (Maharashtra), commenced operations in the first quarter of 2009-10 (refers to financial year, April 1 to March 31). The major products in BAL’s portfolio are methylamines, ethylamines, dimethylamine hydrochloride, N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, morpholine, choline chloride, and dimethyl urea.
