Understanding different approaches to trading and risk architecture has become an imperative for banks as structural and technological changes, together with cost pressures and a compulsion to shore up efficiency, force a rethink on pricing and risk strategies.

In the context, what are the priorities for trading and risk technology groups of banks in 2021? How can banks reduce costs and shore up agility and efficiency, and improve their enterprise architecture? These are some of the questions that have gained urgency.

For answer to these questions, we hosted a discussion forum where we also shared findings from our recent survey of risk and technology heads (CTOs/ COOs/ CDOs/ heads of risk technology/ heads of trading) across Tier I, II and III banks on the shifting market priorities and evolution of risk and trading platforms.

The event also had industry leaders sharing their views on:

  • Risk architecture design and its advantages and implementation challenges such as integrated risk and pricing architecture with co-ownership across functions
  • Decision-making criteria based on banking segments, strategy, and regulatory guidance, as the approach adopted by Tier I banks vs Tier II or Tier III ones
  • Advantages of hosting risk and pricing platforms on cloud, use cases and examples of platforms that will continue to be hosted on-premise
  • How to build a cross-border high performing team that can cope with the technology challenges ahead
