CRISIL webinar on Real estate sector: The ground realty is shaky

Summary

The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the Indian economy off the cliff, and along with it big-ticket spending such as on real estate. Commercial realty, which has been holding ground, will also be affected with the trend of a substantial portion of employees continuing to work from home at many companies after the lockdown ends. Furthermore, lending to the sector has become even more cautious.

To be sure, the real estate sector was already on shaky ground since the past few years owing to demonetisation, the introduction of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, and the liquidity crisis of NBFCs.

Given the context, CRISIL is organising a webinar where our experts will speak on:

  • Impact on demand and prices in the medium term
  • Micro markets and segments to be least impacted, and expected to show a faster recovery
  • Demand for office space at a time when work-from-home is getting normalised
  • Impact on shopping malls

The webinar will be followed by a panel discussion with industry experts, and a Q&A session.
